Module Three
google docs was extremely easy to use and it was quick to upload documents. I found documents with tables were difficult as the format was sometimes adjusted. I think google docs would be a great tool in my classroom for peer editing of creative writing. Students could upload their finished writing pieces and share them with other students using them as their editor. These students could be responsible for editing the work and preparing it for publication. It would be much more effective than students emailing and attaching their work to each other and myself.
Module Two
Reflecting on module two I can see many applications for blogs in the classroom. They are an effective way for students to reflect consistently on their learning. You could create a blog where students could reflect daily on an aspect of their learning eg. strategies they enjoyed, activities they had difficulty with and areas of strength. Other students could contribute by sharing ideas or strategies they use. this would develop a students sense of themselves as a learner and how they learn best. It would also allow they teacher to reflect on their students learning and to gain insight on techniques that work well for their students. You could also use blogs as a way of presenting an ongoing research task or science experiment with regular updates posted.
Module One
Hi my name is Katy Walton,
I teach Yr 3 at St Thomas More's Brighton le Sands. After setting up my igoogle account I am excited and inspired by the number of gadgets that are available. I had to cut down my original choices as I had far too many and have already learnt an important lesson about relevance of information. This is something I feel is important when teaching students to both navigate and utilise web resources. Module one also introduced me briefly to some ways in which the internet cold be used for class collaboration on projects with great flexibility.
