Module Two

Reflecting on module two I can see many applications for blogs in the classroom. They are an effective way for students to reflect consistently on their learning. You could create a blog where students could reflect daily on an aspect of their learning eg. strategies they enjoyed, activities they had difficulty with and areas of strength. Other students could contribute by sharing ideas or strategies they use. this would develop a students sense of themselves as a learner and how they learn best. It would also allow they teacher to reflect on their students learning and to gain insight on techniques that work well for their students. You could also use blogs as a way of presenting an ongoing research task or science experiment with regular updates posted.

  1. Katy, this sounds like a reflective learning journal that I have seen you use so effectively last year. I like the idea that the students would also be able to contribute to the reflective learning of others in the class also. This makes the sharing of learning much more evident and values the real learning contributions of all parties, not just the feedback from the teacher.
